Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has authorised permanent employment for the heirs of deceased government employees.
The Establishment Division issued an announcement on Friday in response to the revision to the Prime Minister’s assistance package (PMAP).
Under the new Office Memorandum, the clause of “Contract Appointment” in PMAP-2015 is supplemented with “Regular Appointment” with immediate effect in accordance with the Civil Servants (Appointment, Promotion, and Transfer) Rules 1973.
As a one-time exception, employees hired under PMAP-2006 and PMAP-2015 who are still working under the current contract will be regularised immediately.
If a candidate fails the test for a position up to BS-15, he or she will be reassigned to a lower grade indefinitely.
In other news, the Punjab government increased the concession for provincial secretariat staff by a whopping 100 percent earlier this week, defying earlier rumours that the government planned to increase it by half.
According to a notice issued by the Finance Department, all secretariat employees in BPS 1-16 will receive the increased allowance.
Employees hired under PMAP-2006 and PMAP-2015 who are still working under the existing contract will be regularised immediately as a one-time exception.
