Xiaomi 12 series will make its global debut in China on December 28. The company has confirmed the launch of multiple smartphones, which include the vanilla model, the 12 Pro and 12X. Xiaomi 12X is likely an affordable flagship option launching alongside the 12 and 12 Pro. The device will launch in China for CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs 35,400), according to a leak by tipster Really Assen. The tipster claims that the base variant will have 8GB + 128GB storage. Xiaomi will also launch 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB variants for CNY 3,299 (roughly Rs 38,900) and CNY 3,599 (roughly Rs 42,500) respectively.
Specs and features
As per the details, the device will sport a 6.28-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. It will sport a hole-punch cutout and have curved edges. The 12-bit display will also support a 120Hz refresh rate and have a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top. For biometrics, the phone will have an in-display fingerprint scanner.
On the back, the phone is rumoured to sport a triple-camera setup. It will have a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS. The same sensor is found on several OnePlus smartphones, including the Nord 2, OnePlus 9 Pro, etc. Xiaomi 12X will also come with a 13MP OmniVision OV13B ultrawide camera and a 5MP telemacro camera. For selfies, there will be a 20MP front camera.
Under the hood, there will be a Snapdragon 870 SoC. The phone will have up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It will come with a 4500 mAh battery with 67W fast charging. Other specs include an X-axis linear motor, a 6-series aluminium frame, IR blaster, stereo speakers, etc.
