WhatsApp lets you share updates with friends using text, images, or videos. These posts disappear after 24 hours. The app already has good privacy settings. You can choose who sees your updates.
Now, WhatsApp might make these settings even easier. According to WABetaInfo, a new beta version of WhatsApp (2.24.12.27) shows a new privacy menu before you share your update. This menu lets you choose to share with All contacts or Specific contacts that you choose.
This is a good reminder for users to change who can see their update at the last minute. It’s not clear yet if these changes will affect the next update.
Currently, users can control who sees their updates in the Settings > Privacy section. You can also choose who sees your updates when you’re making them.
This feature could stop you from being embarrassed. But it might be annoying if the menu shows up every time you share an update. On the positive side, it lets you check your privacy settings before sending an update.
It’s hard to know when this feature will be available. Only a few beta testers have it now. But it will be available to most WhatsApp beta users soon, according to WABetaInfo. We don’t know if this feature will be in this Instant messaging app yet.
WhatsApp is also making updates better. Now, the most relevant updates will be at the beginning of your list.
Instead of showing updates in the order they were posted, the Instant messaging app will put updates from people you talk to often or from chats you’ve pinned at the top. Expiring updates and official WhatsApp announcements will also be at the front of the list.
