The Steam Deck, Valve’s handheld gaming console, has finally been released.
The device resembles the Nintendo Switch, the current market leader in handheld gaming devices, but it is more powerful and more expensive. It is a 7-inch portable gaming PC powered by AMD, with storage options of 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB.
Steam Deck can be purchased from the official Steam website. Anyone who has already pre-ordered the device has 72 hours after receiving a confirmation email to confirm their purchase or cancel the reservation.
The following emails are also expected to be sent out within the next few weeks by the company.
Valve also released a mini-game called Aperture Desk Job to commemorate the release of Steam Deck. The game is set in the Portal universe and was designed to guide the user through the various functions of the Steam Deck. The mini-game can also be played on a Windows PC.
The game will be widely available on March 1st and will be available for free via Steam.
Valve also added a ‘Great on Deck’ feature, which displays games compatible with the Steam Deck, such as Elden Ring, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and many others.
