On Friday, the government of Sindh declared that all schools in the province would be closed from June 1 through July 31 for the summer.
According to the provincial education secretary, the school break dates were set after being approved by a committee.
The decision for summer break was made at an earlier this year meeting of the education steering group.
All schools, both public and private, that fall under the jurisdiction of the School Education and Literacy Department of the Government of Sindh are required to comply with the announcement.
