On Saturday, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif officially opened Pakistan’s first commercial Nawaz Sharif IT City project. She also introduced the official logo for Nawaz Sharif IT City and showed a documentary on the project.
CBD and 15 IT and education companies signed a memorandum of understanding to help build the city. The ceremony was attended by ambassadors from China, the United States, Turkey, and several other countries.
The CM stated that major multinational tech behemoths were showing interest in the IT City, with ten corporations already intending to open operations there.
853 acres of area
The IT city covers 853 acres and is tax-free for ten years. It will consist of an IT & Tech District, Knowledge City, and Film City.
Branches of International colleges
International colleges will establish branches in the Knowledge City, and a Film City outfitted with cutting-edge technology will stimulate the local film industry. The authorities have committed to support businesses by providing land and infrastructure as needed.
