The market for electric vehicles (EVs) in China is fast becoming crowded with brand-new, high-tech EVs of all sizes and kinds. The brand-new IM LS7 has been unveiled in China by MG’s parent firm SAIC.
The aforementioned EV is the business’ second premium all-electric SUV that competes with the Avatr 11 and other SUVs of a similar design. A new rumour states that IM LS7 will officially make its debut in the middle of February 2023.
The SUV openly appropriates certain design cues from European and North American automobiles. Its front appearance is reminiscent of the Tesla Model Y, while the Aston Martin DBX’s taillights are an exact replica of each other. The EV’s general form is comparable to the Jaguar F-Pace.
The IM LS7’s interior has an extremely futuristic cabin with a high-end leather interior and large touch panels and screens throughout. However, SIAC has directly copied the steering yoke concept from the latest Tesla models, continuing the trend of design piracy.
A single and twin electric motor version of the IM LS7 are available for performance. The latter has a lower range but produces 570 horsepower and 725 Newton metres (Nm) of torque. However, the lone electric motor may provide a range of up to 660 km on a single charge.
Similar to IM LS6, IM LS7 has two battery options: 90 kWh and 100 kWh. Additionally, it will include various cutting-edge luxury and safety features, which the company will disclose.
