The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced that the matriculation annual exam papers in Chitral will be cancelled from Thursday to Saturday due to heavy rain.
This decision was made today at a meeting chaired by Education Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai in Peshawar. The meeting also decided to reschedule the papers for a later date.
It is important to note that the remaining districts will hold their examinations according to the original schedule.
The Education Minister directed all boards to immediately assign examination staff duties and ensure that security and other arrangements are fully prepared.
He also warned that anyone involved in leaking board papers would face severe consequences.
Following the recent heavy rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has reported that at least 21 people have tragically died in various incidents across the province.
According to the PDMA, the recent rainstorm caused 330 roof and wall collapses, destroying 53 homes and damaging an additional 277 structures. Furthermore, the PDMA reported that 32 people were injured in various incidents throughout the province.
