Syed Amin UI Haque, the Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications (MoITT), on Tuesday, asked that the process of awarding cash prizes to the IT industry be expedited and that a deadline be established.
The minister gave these directives while chairing the Pakistan Software Export Board’s (PSEB) 51st Board of Directors meeting. The discussion went into the issues of IT exports and the distribution of cash prizes to IT companies in great detail.
Officials from the Ministry of Information Technology (MoITT) and the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) provided a detailed presentation on the challenges that IT companies and freelancers face as a result of regulations implemented by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The minister lauded the Pakistan Software Export Board’s soft skills programs and instructed authorities to enhance the representation of women in those programs.
He stated that the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications has a strong commitment to women’s empowerment.
Usman Nasir, Managing Director of the Pakistan Software Export Board, made a detailed presentation on PSEB’s soft skills initiatives earlier.
The meeting also approved the creation of a sales launch pad at the Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh, as well as the minutes from the previous board meeting.
