Although Pakistan’s floods are no longer occurring, the diseases they have caused are still proving to be deadly. Diseases and floods have already claimed the lives of 1600 people. Additionally, skin diseases, diarrhoea, and malaria all claim lives. In order to fight malaria, the Pakistani government is now thinking about purchasing mosquito nets from India.
For 26 districts, about 62 Lac mosquito nets would be purchased. According to reports, the government gave the Health Ministry permission to import mosquito nets from India for the purpose of preventing malaria. Following the flood, malaria, diarrhoea, and skin illnesses are causing people problems. There have been 324 deaths from diarrhoea.
In the two months since the floods, more than two lakh individuals in Sindh and Balochistan provinces have contracted malaria. Pakistani flood victims have complained about having to prepare their own food and drink contaminated water.
According to officials, it will be challenging to contain the situation if assistance is not obtained from other nations. By the way, Pakistan has long struggled with the proliferation of contaminated water. 900 people have passed away as a result of this illness so far this year. In a statement released last week, the Pakistani government said that the floods there had cost the nation nearly $10 billion in damages.
