The Honor X30 smartphone has been launched in China, and comes in as a mid-range smartphone with reasonably decent specs. The overall spec sheet is in line with what you would typically expect of a smartphone at this range, and with Honor being a brand independent of Huawei’s influence today, also comes with Android OS and all the flexibility it brings with Google’s app ecosystem.
Honor X30: pricing
The Honor X30 is available in two trims — a 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant, and another with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The former is priced at CNY 1,499 (approx. Rs 17,900), while the latter costs CNY 2,299 (approx. Rs 27,500). Both variants go on sale in China on December 24, and there’s no word yet on international availability.
Key specifications
The Honor X30 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, paired with the aforementioned RAM and internal storage variants. It features a 6.8-inch IPS, full HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate, and a centrally aligned drill hole slot for the front camera. The display offers largely uniform bezels apart from the slightly thicker chin, which is a fairly regular thing to see.
To the rear, the smartphone features a large, symmetric circle that houses Honor’s branding mandates, as well as the rear camera module. The latter offers a 48MP main camera unit, along with a 2MP macro unit and a 2MP depth sensor. The overall design looks quite premium, and almost punches above its weight in terms of how it looks — at least in photographs.
Other key specifications include Android 11 with Honor’s custom MagicUI on top, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and a 4,800mAh battery with 66W fast charging support that can reportedly provide 80 percent power in 30 minutes. The smartphone will be available in black, silver, gold and blue colour options — with the silver and blue colour variants offering gradient-like finishes.
