The Holy Kaaba in Mecca will be given its traditional cleaning once a year on the date announced by Saudi Arabia. The ceremony will take place on the second of August (2 Muharram), and Zam Zam water, rose water, and scent will be used in the ceremony.
The cleanup will take place after the morning Fajr prayer, according to Arab news outlets. During the event, Prince Khalid al-Faisal, the Governor of Makkah, would use a mixture of Zam Zam water, rose water, and musk to purify the inner walls of the Kaaba.
After the interior of the Holy Kaaba has been cleansed, palm leaves will be used to dry it, and a white cloth will be used to wipe down the walls.
The Holy Kaaba is cleaned twice a year
Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him) established this profound ritual, today known as Ghusl Kaaba, which dates back to his lifetime. It is stated that the Prophet used to cleanse the Kaaba twice a year, once in the month of Muharram and again in the month of Sha’ban, right before the holy month of Ramadan.
