In Saudi Arabia, the tank brand of Great Wall Motors (GWM) has just made its international premiere. The Tank 300 Off-Road Edition, the Tank 500 SUV, and GWM’s 1 millionth international sale were all unveiled and celebrated in a big ceremony by GWM. The first destination on GWM Tank’s globalization tour in the Middle East.
The Tank brand is one of GWM’s most emblematic innovations, according to General Manager of Great Wall Motors Middle East Xu Huanzhi, who spoke at the occasion. Xu said that the Tank brand will broaden its international operations from the Middle East to markets in Australia, Russia, and other Southeast Asian nations.
According to Gautam Arun, Great Wall Motors Middle East’s Product Director:
“The Tank 300 provides a new off-road experience catering to users’ individuality, fills the diverse user needs in the Middle East market, and breaks the barriers between off-road SUVs and urban SUVs.”
A marketing film showcasing the occasion gave Saudi users an overview of the Tank brand’s genesis. Initially, WEY, another brand that falls under the GWM umbrella, had a sub-brand called Tank.
To establish Tank as a separate brand, GMW was persuaded by the positive response from the market and the public. At the moment, GWM is comprised of 5 brands: Great Wall, Haval, WEY, Tank, and ORA, with the Tank brand primarily concentrating on SUVs with appropriate off-road characteristics.
With the debut of the Haval brand in 2018, GWM entered the Saudi Arabian market. According to market statistics, GWM’s compound annual growth rate in the Saudi Arabian market from 2018 to 2021 has reached 204 percent, and in little over three years, its market share for SUVs and pickup trucks has surpassed 5 percent.
