More than 35,000 people from all over the world are expected to gather at Enercare Centre next week for the largest tech event in Canada since the outbreak began, which will include a conversation with venture capitalists Jenny Fielding (The Fund) and Jon Soberg (MS&AD Ventures) moderated by Grit Daily’s Jordan French.
The number of attendance has increased by 40%, from 25,000 in 2019 to 35,000 in 2022, as demand for in-person events grows significantly. The number of startups in attendance has increased by 36% to 1,500, surpassing the previous year’s Web Summit 2021 in Lisbon.
Snap, Google Cloud, TikTok, AWS, RBC, Siemens, KPMG, CAE, Interac, and Crypto.com are among the approximately 250 global partners in 2022, up 40% year on year. Collision’s women in tech programme, as well as the startup space, are both sold out.
The Enercare Centre’s overall floor area need has grown by 54%, from 50,000sqm to 77,000sqm. Collision will use the whole Beanfield Centre facility for the first time, as well as outside area for food trucks, seats, and circulation.
On Monday, June 20, Dapper Labs CEO Roham Gharegozlou, Academy Award-winning actor Lupita Nyong’o, and Manbooker Prize-winning novelist Margaret Atwood will take the stage for Opening Night.
More than 900 speakers, 1,500 startups, 1,200 media, 850 investors, and 100 unicorn firms are expected to arrive in Toronto from 140 countries, including Jordan French of Grit Daily and Loralyn Mears, PhD, of Grit Daily.
Founders and CEOs of the world’s most successful tech startups, including Substack, Ethereum, Blockchain.com, Flexport, Cardano, Tezos, Binance, BlockFi, Chief, Calendly, Clearco, Cloudflare, and many more, will talk on Collision’s 20+ tracks, including the brand new Crypto track.
More than 100 decacorns and unicorns will be in attendance and on stage at Collision, which Recode considers “one of the greatest showcases for up-and-coming businesses.” Deel, Canva, Trulioo, and FalconX are among the more than 100 decacorns and unicorns who will be in attendance and on stage at Collision.
Thousands of businesses will also meet with investors such as Hans Tung of GGV, Renata Quintini of Renegade, Jeff Jordan of Andreessen Horowitz, Deena Shakir of Lux, and Andrew Reed of Sequoia Capital. The annual Collision Speakers & Media Dinner, hosted by Grit Daily, will take place on June 21.
