Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz approved the construction of a 21-story Arfa Karim Tower-II in Lahore during a meeting on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the CM was informed about the Information Technology, Education, and Film City Projects in Lahore.
Officials briefed Maryam Nawaz that Microsoft, Oracle, and other big corporations have expressed interest in the construction of the IT City.
The Chief Minister asked officials to send invites to China’s leading IT businesses to open headquarters in Punjab. She vowed to give business possibilities for the greatest IT companies in the IT City.
CM Maryam set a timeframe for establishing Lahore Knowledge Park and IT City. She also approved a free Wi-Fi pilot project in Lahore, with free Wi-Fi preferably available in educational institutions, airports, railway stations, and bus stops.
The free Wi-Fi project is planned to begin in 10 areas in Lahore over the next two weeks, with plans to put free Wi-Fi points in 516 locations.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister was informed that campuses of world-renowned international universities would be created in Education City Lahore.
