Asus has announced the ExpertBook B1400 laptop in India today. The device, which falls in the thin and light category, is also priced rather affordably, which could be attractive for many users. It runs on Intel’s 11th generation processors and has a modern design, with a revamped Numpad and backlit keyboard. It also has standard features like a heat-pipe for cooling, a power key that doubles up as a fingerprint sensor, and hinges that allow the screen to be tilted a full 180 degrees. It will be sold through Asus’ offline partners and the company’s own stores at a starting price of Rs. 32,490, excluding GST.

On the specs front, the laptop has a USB Type-C Gen 1 port, along with two other USB A 3.2 Gen 2 and USB 2.0 ports. It also has a built-in HDMI and VGA port, along with a Gigabit ethernet enabled RJ-45 port, and PCIe 3.0 SSD storage inside. And as mentioned before, the laptop runs on Intel’s 11th Gen processors, including a configuration that sports the Core i7 chip.
The laptop has a 14 inch display with discrete Nvidia GeForce graphics, and you can pick a 1TB SSD or a 2TB HDD on the device. The company says that the laptop has an admin-friendly design for “hassle-free maintenance in commercial or education settings”. Basically, removing a few screws from the base will give users access to the motherboard. The same can be done to upgrade the RAM or storage on the device.
Further, the Asus ExpertBook B1400 also supports WiFi 6 connectivity, and has Asus’ WiFi Master Technology, which helps enhance connectivity, at least on paper. The Bluetooth 5.2 standard is also supported. Asus says that the laptop has been tested for up to 10,000 connection cycles and assures “maximum reliability”.
Essentially, the Asus ExpertBook B1400 looks like a device that’s meant for schools and smaller scale enterprises. While the company is selling the device in consumer stores as well, it’s likely that most of the orders it will get are from enterprise use cases.
