A local News channel reported that in the province of Punjab, the city of Chiniot had at least 40 new cases of AIDS during a period of two months.
Information suggests that in the past two months, Chiniot, Punjab province has seen an influx of 40 new HIV cases, with 22 people testing positive for HIV during a sample size of 62.
AIDS cases are continuously increasing
According to Azhar Abbas, coordinator of the AIDS Control Programme, 715 new cases have been registered in the last three years.
Twenty-two of the sixty-two people tested positive for HIV, according to Azhar Abbas.
He went on to say that hazardous blood transfusions, sexual practises, and drug use are major contributors to the HIV pandemic, and that persistent fever, weight loss, and gastrointestinal problems are typical HIV symptoms.
