Xiaomi unveiled its Xiaomi 13T series yesterday at the global September launch event in Berlin. The new smartphones, however, were not the only focus of the event.
Xiaomi also unveiled its latest smartwatch, the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro, and announced the global launch of the Smart Band 8.
Smart Band 8
In April, the Mi Band 8, also known as the Smart Band 8, made its debut in China. It has a 1.62-inch AMOLED pill-shaped display with a 490 x 192 pixel resolution. The Band 8 supports Always-on Display functionality and has a maximum brightness of 600 nits.
The Band 8, like its predecessor, the Band 7, offers comprehensive health and fitness tracking capabilities, as well as new interactive fitness courses.
These courses make use of the accelerometer on the Band 8 to track your movements during exercise in real time.
Xiaomi’s style with the Band 8
Xiaomi emphasizes style with the Band 8, offering a variety of official strap options in various materials, such as leather, nylon fabric, and metal, in a variety of styles.
Xiaomi also includes a pendant accessory and a clip that can be attached to your shoes, allowing for advanced tracking and posture monitoring.
Band 8 Battery Life
The Band 8 has a battery life of up to 16 days with normal usage, which drops to 6 days when Always-on Display mode is enabled.
The proprietary two-pin charger is used for charging, which promises a full charge in just one hour. The Xiaomi Band 8 is available for €40.
Xiaomi Watch Pro 2
The Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro is a comprehensive Google Wear OS smartwatch that includes a wide range of third-party apps that users can download and use.
LTE-equipped Versions
It comes in both Bluetooth-only and LTE-equipped versions, with the latter allowing users to make and receive calls, send texts, and stay connected even when not paired with a smartphone.
The Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro features a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a maximum brightness of 600 nits.
Furthermore, the watch has Always-on-Display functionality and comes with 20 pre-installed watch faces to accommodate a variety of user preferences.
Qualcomm’s Processor
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 + Gen 1 wearable platform is at the heart of the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro, which is complemented by 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
This smartwatch also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC connectivity, as well as dual-band GNSS positioning. Notably, the Watch 2 Pro has a water resistance rating of 5ATM and weighs 54.5 grams without the strap.
