Vivo’s latest budget phone offering, the V40 SE 5G, has arrived in Europe and will be released in other markets soon. Pricing and availability information should be revealed shortly.
Design and Display
The screen is a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 and a maximum brightness of 1800 nits.
Because this is an AMOLED panel, the phone can place the optical fingerprint sensor beneath the screen. The selfie camera has a single, centred punch-hole cutout.
Internals & Software
The Vivo V40 SE 5G is positioned in the lower-midrange category, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset.
This chipset is complemented by 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage, which can be expanded up to 1 TB using microSD cards. Android 14 covers the software side, with Funtouch OS 14 on top.
Cameras
The main camera setup consists of a 50MP f/1.8 main shooter, an 8MP ultrawide camera for a wider field of view, and a 2MP macro shooter for close-up shots. There has been no word on video recording capabilities as of yet. The selfie camera hidden inside the punch-hole cutout is a 16 MP f/2.0 camera.
Battery and Pricing
Even though there is no charger included, the Vivo V40 SE 5G supports 44W of rapid wired charging on top of its 5,000 mAh battery for quick recharges. As previously stated, pricing information has yet to be revealed, but it should not be too long.
