According to a recent survey by TASC Outsourcing, a leading recruitment business in UAE, almost eight out of 10 UAE nationals anticipate receiving a rise in salary in 2023.
Five hundred Emiratis were surveyed to determine the percentage of nationals in the labour force. A total of 17.75% of Emiratis, the research says, are holding out for a pay rise of 10% or more. Meanwhile, 27.8% of nationals anticipate hikes in the 5-8% range, while 22.5% anticipate raises in the 8-10% range.
Nearly 1 in 6 respondents foresee a rise of less than 5%, and nearly 1 in 5 (18.3%) do not expect any rise at all this year.
The poll findings are released at a time when the government of the United Arab Emirates is actively working to boost the percentage of Emiratis working in the private sector.
Sixty-four percent of Emiratis are unhappy with their earnings, while only 36 percent are satisfied.
As TASC Outsourcing noted in their extensive manual “Making Emiratization a Success 2023,” pay structures are an important factor in ensuring the success of the emirate’s new workforce.
UAE nationals will perform better with competitive salary
It stressed the need of competitive compensation in retaining highly motivated UAE nationals and guaranteeing the sustainable success of Emiratization efforts.
The recruitment firm also stressed the need of competitive compensation packages in maintaining Emirati talent in the private sector, where competition for jobs is fierce.
