Toyota has announced a vehicle presentation on September 6, but has not revealed what will be revealed. According to a teaser, the long-awaited Century SUV is on its way.
Toyota’s New Luxury Model
The luxury model was initially mentioned with the launch of the Alphard and Vellfire in June. Toyota’s chief branding officer and head of design, Simon Humphries, said.
The Century is the ultimate chauffeur experience, but it too will have to evolve as we move to the future. Later in the year,
I hope to have the chance to share the outcome of that story with a new edition to Toyota’s chauffeur series.
The new teaser image depicts a blocky body with chrome accents and J-shaped taillights, indicating that the new vehicle would be an SUV.
The G60 model
Toyota fans will recognise the Century brand from the company’s luxury vehicles, including the 2018 third-generation (G60) model. According to reports, the Century SUV will be powered by a hybridised 2UR-FSE 5.0-liter V8 with 430 horsepower.
The Century SUV will be built on the Toyota New Global Architecture GA-K or GA-L platform and will have a hybrid powertrain.
The GA-K platform is used by the Alphard, Vellfire, Lexus LM, RX, and TX, while the GA-L platform is used by the Crown and LS.
According to other rumours, the model will cost the equivalent of Rs. 31 million in Japan, which is appropriate for a contender to the Mercedes GLS, BMW X7, and Audi Q8.
