The Rolls-Royce Amethyst Droptail is a spectacular customised creation that pays attention to the client’s rich cultural background, family lineage, and personal preferences.
The Amethyst Droptail is an exceptional expression of applied artistry among the four various versions of the Rolls-Royce Droptail.
Rolls-Royce Amethyst Droptail
This unique masterpiece was commissioned by a patron whose family business has grown from a gemstone boutique to a worldwide corporation with a varied portfolio.
The customer is a notable arts supporter with a well-traveled background, worldwide education, and a diverse spectrum of inspirations.
A custom-designed private museum houses their carefully curated collection of fine jewellery, famous autos, and contemporary artworks.
Coachbuild’s designers
The patron tasked Coachbuild’s designers with creating a delicate replica of the Droptail, using inspiration from the amethyst gemstone.
The Amethyst Droptail exemplifies the client’s preference for understated beauty and precise nuances, attracting those who notice it with its beautiful intricacies.
The Rolls-Royce Amethyst Droptail was officially unveiled at an exclusive event in Gstaad, Switzerland.
A favourite site for the patron where they were joined by close family members and friends to commemorate this creation.
Rolls-Royce Amethyst Droptail Floral Transformation:
The duotone paintwork on the outside expertly reflects the flower’s journey through several stages of flowering.
The main body colour, an ethereal purple with a faint silver undertone, is named after the flower “Globe Amaranth.”
This colour is given a brilliant boost with delicate powdered aluminium particles that catch and reflect light, creating a mesmerising iridescent effect.
The rich purple Amethyst contrast colour dominates the upper coachwork of the vehicle.
This colour is a blend of red, blue, and violet mica flakes that come together to provide a distinctive mauve tone with a refined metallic glint.
When the sun shines on the scene, a soft mauve hue develops from within the 22-inch wheels, providing a subtle yet stylish contrast to the mirror-polished aluminium surface.
This feature is reminiscent of the client’s prized custom-made jacket’s colourful lining.
The appearance is completed by an incredibly sophisticated treatment of the carbon fibre that forms the vehicle’s bottom portions.
The marque’s craftspeople precisely devised a chevron pattern that seamlessly aligns across two axes over two years of tedious development.
This geometric ornamentation adorns the technical external surfaces of the Rolls-Royce Amethyst Droptail, lending it a polished appearance.
Amethyst Droptail Pantheon Grille:
The Pantheon grille of the Rolls-Royce Amethyst Droptail demonstrates the client’s steadfast faith in Rolls-Royce artisans’ ability to construct complicated designs.
The outside grille surround and ‘kinked’ vane components have a ground-breaking treatment.
The client’s son, a fan of haute horlogerie, took inspiration for this concept from the brushed hands of a historically significant timepiece in his collection.
50 hours of collective effort
Over 50 hours of collective effort were put in to produce perfect surface uniformity and a stunning contrast between finish kinds.
A sophisticated lower front air intake replaces this modern workmanship marvel beneath it.
This elaborate artwork, meticulously created in the digital realm and built from a lightweight composite, combines an incredible 202 hand-polished stainless-steel ingots.
Each ingot is meticulously hand-painted in the elegant Globe Amaranth shade, resulting in an extraordinary marriage of engineering and aesthetics.
Spirit of Ecstasy figurine
The Spirit of Ecstasy figurine, surrounded by amethyst cabochons, completes the front visage.
The customer purposefully picked the cabochon technique, which involves shaping and polishing gemstones into rounder forms rather than faceted cuts, to imply a controlled beauty while avoiding overt brilliance.
This refined touch harkens back to the client’s early engagement in the precious gemstone trade, encapsulating a significant legacy within this one-of-a-kind piece.
Rolls-Royce Droptail’s Removable Hard Top Is a Game Changer:
A removable hard top has been cleverly designed to provide the Rolls-Royce Droptail remarkable versatility.
When the roof is down, the Droptail transforms into a sleek, open-top roadster, and when the roof is up, it transforms into a dominating and theatrical coupé.
Roof’s Innovation
The roof’s innovation continues with the incorporation of electrochromic glass, which gives it the extraordinary capacity to quickly change colour and transparency.
The client provided Coachbuild designers with a one-of-a-kind challenge: create a glass surface that would complement the colour scheme of the Amethyst Droptail.
Rolls-Royce Bespoke
In response to this request, the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective created a really unique chameleon effect for the electrochromic glass.
When not in use, the glass is completely opaque with a faint purple undertone that matches the exterior’s Amethyst hue.
When activated, a single button press changes the glass into a translucent state, matching the colour of the Sand Dunes leather inside.
