The classic Fiat 500 and related Fiat 600 exude a certain La Dolce Vita Mediterranean summer cool, but if they’ve become too common in the resort city where you keep your megayacht, consider this Zastava 750 instead.
This resprayed powder blue Zastava with a white interior is currently for sale on Bring a Trailer, which, like Car and Driver, is part of Hearst Autos.
The Zastava is essentially a Fiat 600 rebadged. It could also be considered the proto-Yugo because it was manufactured in the former Yugoslavia for three decades, beginning in 1955 as the 600, then the 750, and finally the 850.
This later model has front-hinged doors and, as a SE, gets 30 horsepower rather than 25 from its rear-mounted 767-cc four-cylinder engine, which is paired with a four-speed manual transmission.
Prior to the current owner’s purchase of the car in Croatia, this example is said to have undergone some restoration work. It is now in California, where the engine has been rebuilt and the water pump has been replaced. This Zastava appears to be ready to turn heads, whether at the next Yugoslav imports meetup or cruising around the harbour at your next stop.
