On Friday, the Punjab Education Department declared summer breaks for the province’s colleges and schools. Based to a notice published by the education department, all public and private schools in Punjab would be closed from June 1 to August 14, 2024 for the summer holidays.
“All public and private schools throughout Punjab shall remain closed from Saturday, 1st June 2024, to Wednesday, 14th August 2024, for summer vacation,” the notification stated. It further added that “all schools in the province shall reopen with effect from Thursday 15th August, 2024.”
Previously, the Balochistan Education Department released summer vacations for students.
Meanwhile, the timings of nationally run educational institutions have been changed due to the increasing risk of heat wave.
According to the Secretary of Education, governance educational institutions will now be open from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The revised timing is effective immediately and will last until the summer vacations.
The Secretary of Education stated that the goal of modifying the times is to safeguard kids and staff from the upcoming heatwave.
