Qualcomm, a semiconductor company, announced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU in December 2021. According to industry rumors, the company is working on an enhanced ‘Plus’ edition of the flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
According to rumors, Qualcomm’s rumoured chip, codenamed SM8475, may make its formal debut as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus SoC. Yogesh Brar, a reputable tipper, recently revealed the launch date of Qualcomm’s forthcoming flagship processor.
The chip was produced on Samsung’s 4nm technology, but the future plus version processor will be built on TSMC’s 4nm semiconductor production process. According to rumors, the Plus edition will be more efficient than the standard version.
Qualcomm is expected to announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ in early May, according to a leaked roadmap. The new Snapdragon 700-series from Qualcomm, based in the United States, is scheduled to be unveiled around the same time.
Lenovo, Motorola, OnePlus, and Xiaomi are among the companies likely to release the first smartphones powered by the SD8G1+.
In addition, the semiconductor is slated to be used in the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4, which are planned to be released later this year.
