Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Mukesh Kumar Chawla has announced that a road inspection campaign to collect taxes from tax defaulting vehicle owners will begin on February 7 today.
The campaign will run through the 18th of February. Ten teams have been organized for the drive in Karachi, which will begin tomorrow and investigate the vehicles of owners at 37 places throughout the city, according to Chawla.
The campaign is being run to reclaim taxes from people who have defaulted on their car payments.
Mukesh Kumar Chawla presided over the meeting that resulted in the decision. Director Generals Iqbal Ahmad Leghari and Aurangzeb Panhwar, as well as Secretary Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Department, Atif Rehman, were also present earlier this week.
