The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has chosen to distribute motor vehicle smart cards and number plates via Pakistan Post Urgent Mail Service, according to a press release.
Pakistan Post started delivering number plates to car owners at their houses last week.
The services were made available to the general public after an agreement was reached between the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department and Pakistan Post.
After service was given throughout the province, including Rawalpindi, vehicle owners were liberated of the necessity to visit excise offices. Pakistan Post’s Urgent Mail service is currently delivering them.
The Chief Postmaster, Abdul Ghaffar Brohi, has issued immediate instructions to his staff to ensure that all goods received are dispatched as quickly as possible.
It has been reported that other provinces, including the federal capital, are making plans to make all of these services available to the public by Pakistan post.
