Quetta Gladiators will play Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 with a new captain after Sarfaraz Ahmed stepped down, according to sources.

It is worth noting that reports of Sarfaraz Ahmed resigning as captain circulated widely. According to sources, the wicketkeeper batter stepped down as captain following the advice of head coach Shane Watson.
It was reported that South African Rilee Rossouw has been named Sarfaraz Ahmed’s replacement for PSL 9. The Quetta Gladiators have not yet issued an official statement regarding the captaincy issues.
Sarfaraz Ahmed has led the Quetta Gladiators since the cricket league’s inception in 2016. The team finished as a finalist in the first edition and won the tournament the following season.

It is worth noting that Quetta Gladiators will begin their PSL 9 campaign on February 18 when they face Peshawar Zalmi at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
