Acting on clear directions from the Chief Minister, departments worked with discipline and speed. Massive Response from New Drivers
Figures shared by the Punjab Traffic Police show strong public participation across cities and towns. A total of 940,000 citizens obtained learning licenses, while more than 360,000 people received fresh regular driving licenses. This large response reflects rising awareness, easier access to services, and growing respect for legal driving, as people choose responsibility over shortcuts on busy roads.
Renewals and International Permits
Along with new licenses, renewal work also reached historic levels during the same period. More than 700,000 licenses were renewed, including learning, regular, and international categories. In addition, over 2,000 international driving permits were issued, while more than 7,000 lost licenses were reissued. Officials said this effort reduced citizen complaints and cleared long pending cases efficiently.

DIG Traffic Punjab Muhammad Waqas Nazir warned that driving without a valid license is a punishable offence. He stressed that violators face heavy fines and strict legal action. He added that trained and licensed drivers have contributed to a visible decline in traffic accidents, helping create safer roads and protecting lives across Punjab.

Traffic police continue spreading awareness through licensing centers, service centers, and public campaigns.
