A Brazilian airline, VoePass, had a plane crash. It happened in Sao Paulo. All 61 people on the plane died. The company said this on Friday.
The plane crashed in Vinhedo, a city. It carried 57 passengers and four crew. The plane left Cascavel, a city in Parana, Brazil.
The airline said, “All 61 people on flight 2283 died locally.” Firefighters, police, and civil defense came to help.
TV showed the crash site on fire. Smoke rose from the broken plane. The plane fell, spinning as it went down.
Ana Lucia, a witness, spoke to reporters. She said, “I thought it would fall in our yard.” She was scared but glad no locals died. Only people on the plane were victims. The crash happened in Capela, a far part of Vinhedo. Vinhedo has 77,000 people living there.
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva spoke in southern Brazil. He asked people to stand and be quiet for a minute. He shared the news about the crash.
VoePass Plane Crash: Experts Investigate Possible Engine Failure
At Guarulhos airport, VoePass staff helped families. They told the families about their lost loved ones. The staff didn’t say how many families they helped.

Arthur Rosenberg, an aviation expert, talked about the crash. He said the plane seemed to stall in midair. A stall means the plane isn’t moving fast enough to stay up. He said, “The sound shows engine problems.”
Radar data showed a fast drop. This could mean engine failure or another problem. Rosenberg said the plane fell 17,000 feet in two minutes.
The plane was an ATR 72-500. This is a twin-engine turboprop. FlightRadar24, a tracking website, shared this info. VoePass didn’t confirm it.
The plane’s maker, ATR, spoke out. They said their experts are helping with the investigation. They also support their customer. The plane’s black box is found. This box records flight data. Officials recovered it.
