Pakistan’s IT and Telecommunication sector reached a historic moment in October 2025, as export remittances touched USD 386 million. This was the highest monthly figure ever recorded and showed a strong 17% rise compared with last year. The number reflects the growing confidence of global clients in Pakistan’s digital skills, giving new hope to the country’s expanding tech market.
Rising Share in Pakistan’s Export Mix
The sector’s role in the national economy grew much stronger as IT exports made up 10.8% of total exports for the first time. This shift shows how digital services are now becoming a major support for Pakistan’s external finances. The continued rise in IT earnings is helping the economy stay steady, even when other sectors face pressure and difficult global market conditions.
Growth Steady Despite Challenges
October also showed a 5.5% month-on-month increase in remittances. This climb highlights the sector’s ability to stay strong in tough global conditions. In the first four months of FY26, export receipts from IT and telecom reached USD 1.44 billion. This was a clear jump from USD 1.21 billion in the same period last year, showing 19.6% growth and proving that demand for Pakistan’s IT services is rising fast.

Strong Global Demand for Tech Services
Industry experts say the steady expansion is a sign of stronger international demand for software development, support services, and other tech solutions from Pakistan. They note that easier payment flows, improved rules, and better systems for receiving funds have played an important role in this upward trend. These changes have made it easier for companies to work smoothly with clients worldwide.
Future Outlook Remains Bright
Analysts believe that IT exports will keep rising and continue to act as a buffer for Pakistan’s economy. They point out that stable policies, fair taxes, and easy access to dollar repatriation must remain in place to keep the sector moving forward. With October setting a new record, many in the industry feel hopeful about the coming months, expecting more progress as Pakistan strengthens its place in the global digital market.
