Due to an inventory shortfall, Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has opted to extend its plant shutdown.
The automaker said in a press release that it has decided to close its automotive manufacturing from October 30 to November 3.
Pak Suzuki Bike Plant Closure
Furthermore, from November 1 to November 3, the motorbike manufacturing will be closed.
Pak Suzuki has already planned a two-day shutdown of its automotive production from October 25 to October 27.
It is worth noting that Pak Suzuki is not the only automaker that has halted production.
Toyota IMC Plant Closure
Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) announced a month-long shutdown till November 17, while Honda Atlas announced a month-long shutdown from October 24 to October 31.
Despite the recent strengthening of the Pakistani rupee versus the US dollar, the bulk of automobile manufacturers have not decreased their prices.
The announcement that Honda Atlas was lowering the cost of its motorcycles recently went viral on social media.
However, a prominent Honda motorcycle dealer refuted the report. He informed a local news station that costs are unlikely to fall very soon.
Price Reduction by Automakers
So far, the two automakers that have drastically decreased automobile costs are KIA and MG. KIA has reduced its prices by up to Rs. 500,000, while MG has reduced the price of HS Essence by Rs. 600,000.
