As winter set in over the nation, Abbottabad and Galyat saw heavy snowfall, which led to terrible traffic congestion and immobilized hundreds of visitors who had come to enjoy the season.
The key route between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab, Murree Road, has reportedly become blocked owing to stuck cars and a lot of snow, according to the details.
The scenario was made much more difficult for the trapped tourists, especially ladies and children, because of a considerable drop in temperature.
According to reports, up to one foot of snow has covered both Abbottabad and Galyat, making it impossible for locals to travel on foot as well as for automobiles.
Separately, following yesterday’s harsh snowstorm, authorities in Muzzafarabad and Pirchinasi in Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) have successfully rescued about 250 people.
The afflicted individuals have been rescued and relocated to motels close by, according to Assistant Commissioner (AC) Muzaffarabad.
Previously in the same year January, Tens of tourists died in Murree and the neighboring areas after being stranded in their cars owing to heavy snowfall. According to official statistics, 16 to 19 visitors have died as a result of the continuous snowfall.
