Due to a shoulder injury, Naseem Shah will miss Pakistan’s third and final Test against England in Karachi.
Back-to-back injuries have crippled Pakistan’s once-dominant pace attack, putting a strain on the country’s fast bowlers.
Naseem Shah is certain to miss the last Test of the series against England after being ruled out of the Multan Test.
“A niggle in the bowling shoulder has ruled out Naseem Shah for the third and final test,” the Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement on Tuesday.
The pacer will be sent to Lahore for further testing to determine the extent of his ailment. Naseem Shah will then begin his recovery at the National High-Performance Centre, where he will be joined by Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
The team’s administration has opted not to name a replacement for Naseem Shah for the third Test of the series, which England has already won 2-0.
Injuries to key fast bowlers have led to Pakistan losing in the three-match series, England’s first in 17 years. The third test begins on Saturday in Karachi.
Pakistan lost the first test by 74 runs on the final day in dim light before England won by a dramatic 26-run margin in Multan.
Both sides will land in Karachi tomorrow, with the Test match beginning on December 17 at National Stadium.
