Google has released its top search results for the year 2022 in a variety of categories, including Pakistan’s most searched personalities.
Two foreign nationals and five national cricketers are among the top ten. Surprisingly, a Bollywood celebrity could be among the top ten searches in Pakistan in 2022.
- Naseem Shah
Naseem Shah, a right-handed fast bowler, has topped the list of the most searched people in Pakistan. From his record-breaking performance in the Test series against Australia and winning sixes against Afghanistan in the Asian Cup, to his mispronunciation of English language worlds and popularity among Indian actresses, he has been in the news for a long time.
2. Pervez Musharraf
Former President Pervez Musharraf is the second most searched person in Google Pakistan in 2022. Rumours of his death circulated earlier this year, but his family members dismissed them. He has been in the UAE for a long time. From 1999 to 2007, he ruled the country.
3. Salman Rushdie
Controversial writer Salman Rushdie is at the third place in the list as people googled him after a knife attack on him in the US.
4. Iftikhar Ahmad
Iftikhar Ahmad, a Pakistani cricketer, is the fourth most searched person in Pakistan on Google. In a T20 World Cup 2022 match against India in October, he smashed 51 off 34 balls while hitting four sixes.
5. Mohammad Rizwan
Mohammad Rizwan is a Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman who has won numerous titles as a result of his outstanding performance throughout the year.
6. Shehbaz Sharif
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif came in sixth place on the list. He first made headlines in April, when PTI chief Imran Khan was deposed as premier in a no-confidence vote and he was elected as a joint candidate of the opposition alliance, PDM.
7. Shadab Khan
Shadab Khan, the Pakistani all-rounder, remained in Google searches for both good and bad reasons. He came under fire from the public for missing crucial catches in the Asia Cup 2022 final against Sri Lanka. He did, however, become the leading Pakistani wicket-taker.
The other personalities searched were the followings; Amber Heard, Azhar Ali, and journalist Imran Riaz Khan are the eighth, ninth, and tenth most searched people in Pakistan, respectively.
