During the first four months of the current fiscal year (2022-23) compared to the same period last year, the import of mobile phones saw a reduction of 64.94%.
According to the most recent statistics made available by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, Pakistan imported mobile phones worth US $226.051 million during July to October (2022-23) compared to US $644.672 million from July to October (2021-22), showing a reduction of 64.94%. (PBS).
The import of mobile phones likewise decreased in October 2022 as compared to the same month in the previous year, falling by 56.06% on an annual basis.
In comparison to October 2021’s exports of $149.712 million, the imports of mobile phones in October 2022 totaled $65.780 million.
According to the statistics, mobile phone imports grew 12.62 percent month over month in October 2022 compared to September 2022, when they totaled US $58.407 million.
In the first quarter (July-September) of the current fiscal year 2022–23 (FY23), Pakistan imported mobile phones worth $160.271 million, down 67.62 percent from $494.960 million at the same period last year.
Mobile phone imports decreased 7.38 percent monthly (MoM) to $58.407 million in September 2022 from $63.06 million in August 2022, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Mobile phone imports dropped to $209.013 million in September 2022 from $209.013 million the previous month, a 72.06 percent annual (YoY) decrease.
