According to reports, DIG Traffic Ahmed Nawaz has initiated a free automobile repair service for Karachi residents in order to aid locals during the monsoon rains and preserve traffic flow.
To cope with emergency service, 26 patrolling traffic cars, equipped with all necessary amenities, have been stationed on major routes in Karachi, including Shahrah-e-Faisal, University Road, and other areas.
The special vans of the Karachi traffic police include mechanics on board who can mend tyre punctures, fill tyres with air, tow a car, and provide other essential equipment such as fire extinguishers. Karachiites will also receive first assistance from a special traffic police unit in the event of an emergency.
Furthermore, traffic vehicles will distribute free gasoline to automobiles and motorcycles that have run out of gas.
It is worth noting that in 2021, Karachi police’s Madadgar 15 launched a similar service for Karachiites during the monsoon rains.
Moreover, people react to this facility by saying, “no, that’s not needed. A proper drainage system, which is functional in heavy rain is needed.” And, “we need petrol at a lesser price than free petrol.”
