Apple has released iOS 17 Beta 2 for iPhones to the public after initially releasing it to developers and beta testers. The current update includes numerous major changes mentioned at the WWDC, as well as a new update screen that provides more details about the beta software.
One of the most exciting additions to iOS 17 was left out of the official announcements. With iOS 17, iPhones gained the ability to accurately mimic your speech through a feature called Personal speech.
The operation is straightforward. Accessibility settings on your phone should be where you’ll discover Personal Voice. Choose ‘Create Personal Voice’ and your phone will record you speaking a few sentences for 15 minutes. After that, it will spend the night crunching numbers and producing a synthetic imitation of your voice.
While the synthetic voice may have a slight mechanical quality, it is remarkably close to the real thing.
iPhones are getting constant upgrades
Other innovations included in iOS 17 are well-known at this point as well, such as the ability to wirelessly transfer data between two iPhones by merely touching them together. AirDrop and WiFi Direct provide the power for this.
In addition, we’ll have access to Apple Music widgets, contact posters, enhanced autocorrect, Standby Mode, MicroLocation settings, and more.
