At the Amr-bel-Maroof public gathering in Islamabad, a singer, philanthropist, and PTI political member mistakenly performed Fajr Azaan in the evening. The awkward situation has gone viral on social media.
The Jalsa of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) was a significant event that engulfed the entire country. While many debate the political implications of the PTI’s Amr-bel-Maroof rally, a video clip has gone viral on social media.
As it was dusk, the video shows the recitation of Azaan, a call to prayer for Maghrib. Abrar-ul-Haq, a singer, philanthropist, and PTI member, performed the Azaan (though people did not see him performing the Azaan live). Look over it and try if you can figure out what’s wrong.
People and netizens took up on the singer saying “Assalat-o-Khairum’minannoun” incorrectly. “Prayer is better than sleep,” it roughly translates. This Arabic poem is exclusively used during the Fajr (dawn prayer).
On Sunday, during the PTI’s Amr-bel-Maroof public meeting, Pakistani musician and philanthropist Abrar-ul-Haq offered the Fajr azan at Maghrib time, causing an unpleasant scenario. The prayer was called to a halt when Senator Faisal Javed realised the error and repeated the Azaan.
This type of blunder created an embarrassing situation that PTI would like their fans to forget.
