Babar Azam, Pakistan’s all-format skipper, continued his great vein of form in the ODI format, leading his team to a historic series win over Australia.
Babar finished the series as the series’ second-highest run-scorer with 276 runs and was named player of the series for his outstanding performances.
As a result of his outstanding efforts, the world’s top ODI batter increased his lead at the top of the ICC ODI batter rankings and attained his career-high rating points.
Not only did Babar increase his lead over second-placed Virat Kohli, but he also surpassed legends such as Sachin Tendulkar and Michael Bevan in the all-time ODI batter rankings.
Babar presently has 891 rating points, while Tendulkar’s greatest rating point total during his career was 887.
Babar is presently ranked 15th in the 50-over format’s all-time rankings. Sir Vivian Richards, a legendary West Indian batter, leads the standings with 935 rating points.
Zaheer Abbas, a former Pakistani batter, ranks second on the all-time list with a rating of 931 points. The other Pakistani player in the top ten is legendary batter Javed Miandad.
