Huawei has added the new nova 9 SE to its mid-range nova line, which is aimed at video makers on a budget. On the rear, the phone boasts an AI-powered quad-camera array, which is contained in an oval block similar to the nova 9 from last year.
The 108MP sensor, which can take high-resolution photos and high-definition video, is the biggest boost here, followed by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP Bokeh lens, and a 2MP macro lens. A 16MP ultra-wide selfie camera is also included on the front.
Smart video capabilities like continuous recording from front and rear cameras in one file and One-Click video production to rapidly stitch clips together are on board to let you produce and distribute films with a few clicks.
The 6.78-inch display on the nova 9 SE is bigger than the nova 9, but it’s an LCD panel that refreshes at 90Hz rather than the OLED on the nova 9, which support 120Hz refresh rates.
It’s powered by the Snapdragon 680, which means there’s no 5G, and has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There is 66W rapid wired charging available, which can charge the phone’s 4,000 mAh battery from zero to full in 36 minutes.
The main drawback, like with any Huawei phone, is the lack of Google services, but Huawei has made headway with their App Gallery.
