Honor has chosen to keep its latest midranger for the Asian market under wraps. In the next weeks, the phone is expected to make its debut in European and African markets. The X8 is a midranger in its core, staying true to the X series nomenclature.
Design and Display
The Honor X8 has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2388 pixels and a refresh rate of 90Hz, and it weighs 177g and measures 163.4 x 74.7 x 7.45mm.
A dual-4G VoLTE modem, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a USB-C connection, and a 3.5mm audio jack are all included. For added protection, the device includes AI face unlock as well as a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Titanium Silver, Midnight Black, and Ocean Blue will be the three colours available for the smartphone.
Internals and Storage
The Honor X8 is powered by the Snapdragon 680 and comes with 6GB of RAM, 2GB of virtual RAM, and 128GB of built-in storage.
Honor’s native Magic UI 4.2 runs on top of Android 11. The device, however, does not support Google Play apps or services.
Cameras
The X8 has a 64MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. A 16MP selfie camera is also embedded inside a notch on the device.
Battery and Pricing
The phone has a 4,000mAh battery and supports 22.5W fast charging. Honor claims that a 10-minute charge is sufficient for 3 hours of video playback.
The company has not disclosed pricing information or official launch dates.
