According to Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, the government has decided to provide 20,000 scholarships to unemployed Pakistani graduates.
He announced the decision while speaking at an international summit on higher education and workforce development in Islamabad.
He stated, “The govt. has decided to provide 20,000 scholarships to unemployed graduates,” added further that federal government committed to provide the underprivileged class access to education.
Furthermore, Ahsan stated that the scholarships would be given to students from remote areas of the country as part of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Youth Development Initiatives (YDI).
The delegation included US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome, Senator from Utah State, Dr. Keith Grover, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), and others.
Previously, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) announced fully funded scholarships for studies in China for the 2023-24 academic year.
The Higher Education Commission has set the deadline for applying for scholarships at Chinese universities as December 15, 2022.
HEC has invited applications from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistani students to study and conduct research at China’s top universities in a variety of fields.
The deadline for submitting an online application under learning opportunities abroad on the HEC portal www.scholarship.hec.gov.pk is Thursday, December 15, 2022.
