Google, the US tech behemoth, has announced new educational initiatives, including the establishment of 50 smart schools in Pakistan’s federal capital, Islamabad.
Google for Education IDs
In collaboration with its local partner, Tech Valley, the Google for Education team recently met with the Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training to discuss future plans for Pakistan’s education sector.
According to reports from the state news agency, Islamabad’s 50 smart schools will be equipped with 30,000 Google for Education IDs.
These IDs will include AI-powered practice sets and a variety of digital tools designed to improve collaboration and productivity.
Teacher Workshops
The meeting also discussed a number of upcoming initiatives, such as teacher workshops on Google for Education tools, the establishment of a public Google Reference School, job-ready skills training for 2,000 youths through Google Career Certificates, and the possibility of collaborating with Pakistan’s Ministry of Federal Education to host an Edutech event.
