Samsung has released the April 2024 security update for the Galaxy S24 series, which includes the April 1, 2024 security patch as well as camera system enhancements.
April’s Security Patch
This latest update improves the Galaxy S24 series cameras’ performance, particularly in terms of image quality in low-light conditions, as well as the accuracy of white balance and exposure settings.
It also improves the sharpness of text in high-zoom images and the colour fidelity of photos captured with the ExpertRAW camera app.
Furthermore, in order to keep a promise made in February, Samsung has improved the Instant Slow-Mo feature by including 480p resolution video support in the April 2024 update.
This update is currently being distributed to the Galaxy S24 series in South Korea, India, and Europe, with file sizes ranging from approximately 600 MB to 900 MB.
If you have not yet received this update, you can manually search for it by going to Settings > Software update on your device.
S-Pen Issue
The recently reported Galaxy S Pen issue with the new S24 Ultra is not fixable with a software update.
Users on Reddit and other community forums have complained that their S Pens smell like burnt plastic. Several forum users and notable publications, including 9to5Google and Gizmochina, have confirmed this.
