A new initiative to provide free solar panels to those who use up to 200 units of power per month has been unveiled by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
The goal of this programme is to assist in lowering the high electricity costs. That resulted from the July 1 implementation of new tariff rates.
Free Solar Panels & Interest-free Loans
The government will give away free solar panels and interest-free loans to people who utilise 200–500 units of power per year.
The government would pay 75% of the interest on loans to anybody who use more than 500 units.
This implies that more people, irrespective of their consumption, will be eligible for assistance with their electricity bills.
Program’s Registration
This program’s registration is currently open. Residents that qualify will be notified through SMS about how they can participate and benefit from this scheme.
Usage Of Green Energy
This programme seeks to assist consumers who are having trouble paying their high electricity bills financially while also encouraging the usage of green energy.
It displays the government’s dedication to supporting citizens in controlling their energy costs and finding sustainable energy alternatives.
It is anticipated that the programme will significantly improve the lives of numerous Punjabi households by lowering the cost and increasing the accessibility of solar energy.
