According to reports, a Samsung Electronics employee was jailed for stealing trade secrets and sensitive information. The situation is presently being investigated by the firm.
Samsung said that the employee was about to leave and that he or she may have photographed sensitive information about the company’s chip-making operations.
The business did not provide any other information on the proceedings, but did state that an investigation is ongoing.
According to a business spokesperson, “The person is under investigation for violating information protection rules. But it is not yet known the type of information compromised and whether the person handed it to a third party.”
The employee, according to the firm, took critical information about the brand’s innovative semiconductor fabrication process.
The unidentified employee attempted to take screenshots of the material, but the database system prevented him from doing so, so he was forced to record it using his smartphone.
According to reports, the employee photographed hundreds of trade secrets, implying that the employee was likely taking the photos to sell to a competitor.
Advanced semiconductor manufacturing techniques related to 5nm or 3nm chips are anticipated to be used in the chip creation process.
