The coffee you had this morning is a cup of no.
According to a nutritional therapist, consuming coffee first thing in the morning can be more detrimental than beneficial.
When Olivia Hedlund released the now-viral TikTok, she cautioned viewers that reaching for that hot cup of coffee on an empty stomach increased their risk of being in a high-stress state and tampering with their hormones.
“Stop what you’re doing and pay attention if you drink coffee first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Hedlund said, “You are tampering with your hormones.
The mid-September TikTok, which has had 582,500 views so far, is a part of her series on how viewers might enhance their lives.
“Coffee is not only acidic, so it’s hard on our stomach in the morning, but it literally causes our bodies to go into a stress response, to shoot out cortisol, and to put us in kind of a fight-or-flight state,” she claimed.
The dietitian claims that people’s jitters and tremors are a stress reaction to consuming coffee on an empty stomach.
Hedlund remembered, “I used to drink many cups of coffee on an empty stomach, feel like I was on top of the world, and then I would get a load of hormonal acne and wonder why.”
