Covid Patients have increased nationwide in the first six days of April, mirroring the trend from March of last year. Patient numbers increase as positive testing becomes more widespread.
According to statistics from Pakistan’s National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 58 cases had been positively identified on the previous day. 15 patients were in serious condition, and one patient passed away.
On April 6, 2023, 5144 patients were tested, and the positivity rate was approximately 1.13% nationwide. The majority of Covid cases—105—occurred in Punjab during the first five days of April, while 90 Corona victims occurred in Sindh.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded about 18 incidents. Similar to this, Islamabad reported 21 cases, and Balochistan reported almost two.
Covid Patients Positivity Ratio as of 5th April
A total of 3,562 people were tested on April 5, 2023, and 49 had positive results, yielding a positivity rate on average of 1.38%. 24 people required critical care, similarly.
Government records show that 2,946 tests were performed on April 3 and that 47 positive instances, including one fatality, were registered. 20 patients had serious conditions, and the positive ratio was 1.60.
On April 3, 2023, approximately 2,965 tests were conducted, and 55 positive instances with a 1.85% ratio were noted. With 14 patients receiving critical care, no fatalities were reported.
On April 2, 2023, 3,836 people underwent similar testing, and 55 patients (1.43%) tested positive. Without a single death, about 26 patients were moved to critical care.
Around 6,011 patients had their Covid levels checked on April 1; 87 of them reported being positive, giving the test a 1.45% success rate.
On April 1, about 25 people were transported to intensive care, but there were no recorded fatalities.
According to data from the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), Pakistan experienced 1,579,968 confirmed cases during Covid-19, and 30,651 individuals passed away.
But 212,886 patients made a full recovery. With 596,666 positive cases and 8,260 patient deaths, Sindh has the largest number of cases.
Punjab reported 525,110 confirmed cases, with 13,622 individuals dying as the greatest death toll.
Comparable numbers—225,355 cases and 6,376 fatalities—were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In Balochistan, almost 36,064 people had positive tests and about 378 had passed away.
1,031 individuals lost their lives in Islamabad after 140,217 positive cases were reported.
The health authorities have faced a significant problem as a result of the coronavirus’s resurgence in Punjab, since at least six fatalities and 25 new cases have been reported during the past day.
In Punjab, there are currently 0.2% new cases each week per 100,000 people, according to government statistics, although in Lahore, the rate of positive cases has reached 11%, with at least two deaths reported in a 24-hour period.
Two patients were confirmed to have passed away during treatment in a private hospital within the Defence Housing Authority of Lahore during the previous 24 hours by official sources.
Up to five deaths have been reported in the city in the last two weeks, while 11 new patients have been reported in the last 24 hours alone.
Eight individuals are still still receiving care among the city’s public and private institutions.
Of the 525,110 confirmed cases in Punjab, 491,786 have made a full recovery. Up to 13,620 fatalities have reportedly been recorded in the province thus far.
Presently, 390 persons in the province—or one in every 280,000 residents—are ill. 525,110 verified cases have been registered, out of which 19,702 are active cases and 491,786 have totally recovered, according to government data.
