Fifty Pakistani students were honored before they left for China on government scholarships, and they were sent off with a ceremony held by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). These grants came from the Chinese government’s famed scholarship program.
According to Gwadar Pro, the event was attended by the Charge D’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy, Pang Chunxue. She told the crowd that the educational partnership, and especially the joint research and development in science and technology, is the key to moving forward and may be very beneficial to both countries.
HEC Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed mentioned in his speech that there are currently more than 30,000 Pakistani students studying in China. Some of them have received scholarships from the central government in China, he said; others have received scholarships from local governments, academic institutions, and private businesses.
You will be more than just students when you leave; you will be ambassadors for Pakistan. And when you get back to Pakistan, you’ll be China’s ambassadors. So now you have double the work to do,” he continued.
Chinese scholarship is an award
Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the HEC, gave his pupils the assurance that they would not only acquire an education but also obtain insights into the effective techniques that have driven this Chinese nation’s development into a global superpower over the past 25 to 30 years.
Starting in 2019, the Chinese government has provided financial aid to promising Pakistani students interested in pursuing higher education in China.
In the last five years, 243 students from Pakistan have been awarded one of these scholarships, an impressive number. This program is a shining example of the fruitful academic exchange between China and Pakistan, making it possible for Pakistani students to study in China and advance their education abroad.
Science, technology, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics, law, management, education, history, literature, philosophy, and the arts are only few of the many fields represented by the available scholarships. This extensive list demonstrates the Chinese government’s dedication to helping Pakistani students succeed in a wide range of academic disciplines.
